How to Buy $WUD
Buying $WUD takes three things: a wallet, some DOT and a few minutes. This guide walks through the simplest route, then covers MetaMask, stablecoins and Base.
Updated1. Get a Polkadot wallet
A wallet holds your tokens and signs your transactions. Your keys never leave it. For most people we recommend one of these:
- Nova Wallet on your phone. Open gavunwud.com inside Nova's built-in browser.
- Talisman or SubWallet as a browser extension on desktop.
Write down your recovery phrase on paper and keep it private. Anyone who has it controls your wallet. Compare the wallets.
2. Get some DOT
DOT is Polkadot's own coin and the easiest way to pay for $WUD. Buy it on any major exchange, then withdraw it to your wallet's Polkadot address. Since November 2025, DOT balances live on Polkadot Asset Hub, so that is where your DOT arrives.
Keep a little extra, about 0.1 DOT, for network fees.
3. Buy $WUD on gavunwud.com
- Open the Trade page and press Connect. Choose your wallet and account.
- Under Pay with, choose DOT. If your DOT is on Asset Hub, choose DOT from: Asset Hub.
- Type how much DOT to spend, or type how much $WUD you want in You receive.
- Press Buy and approve in your wallet. With One approval, the page sends your DOT to Hydration and buys $WUD the moment it lands.
A progress window shows every step, and the $WUD appears in your wallet on Hydration, usually within a minute.

Good to know
- The 20,000 $WUD minimum. Hydration requires any $WUD balance to be at least 20,000 $WUD. The Trade page checks this for you.
- Slippage. Prices move while you sign. Your minimum received is shown before you buy, and the swap stops rather than fill below it.
- Fees. Network fees are tiny, usually a fraction of a cent. You can choose which token pays them on Hydration.
