1. About these terms

gavunwud.com (the “site”) is run by members of the Gavun Wud community (“we”, “us”). These terms, together with the risks described below, govern your use of the site. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. What this site is

The site provides information about $WUD, the Gavun Wud games, NFT collections and the wider Polkadot community, along with tools that read public blockchain data. It also offers an optional interface for interacting with public blockchains, including swapping on Hydration, moving $WUD between Hydration and Polkadot Asset Hub, transferring tokens and burning $WUD.

That interface is non-custodial. The site does not hold, control or have access to your assets. It prepares transactions that your own wallet asks you to review and sign, and those transactions are carried out by the blockchains themselves, not by us. We charge no fees for using the site. Network and pool fees are paid to the networks involved.

3. No financial advice

Nothing on the site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Prices, charts, statistics and other data are provided for information only, may be delayed or inaccurate, and come partly from third parties. $WUD is a community memecoin with no promise of value, returns or future development. Do your own research and never commit more than you can afford to lose.

4. Wallets and self-custody

You connect using a third-party wallet such as Nova Wallet, SubWallet, Talisman or Polkadot.js. You alone are responsible for your wallet, your devices and your recovery phrase. Connecting only shares your public address with the site. We will never ask for your recovery phrase or private keys, and anyone who does is attempting to steal from you.

Because we never hold your keys or funds, we cannot recover lost access, reverse transactions, or restore assets sent to a wrong address.

5. Swaps, transfers and cross-chain

• Swaps go through the public WUD/DOT pool on Hydration. Quotes are estimates. The amount you receive depends on the pool at the moment your transaction is processed, within the slippage limit you set. If the price moves beyond that limit, the swap does not go through.
• Transfers send $WUD to the address you enter, on the same chain. Always check the address. Transfers to the wrong address, or to an exchange that does not support $WUD, are usually unrecoverable.
• Cross-chain moves use Polkadot’s XCM messaging between Hydration and Asset Hub, and require DOT for fees. Delivery normally takes under a minute but depends on the networks involved.
• Network rules apply that we do not control. For example, Hydration requires an account to hold at least 20,000 $WUD and removes smaller balances, and an Asset Hub account needs some DOT to receive $WUD. The site tries to warn you about these rules, but they are set by the networks and may change.

You can always use Hydration’s own app, or any other wallet or interface, instead of this site.

6. Burning $WUD

Burning sends $WUD to an address that no one controls. Burned $WUD can never be recovered. Burns are voluntary and do not entitle you to anything in return, except where a specific community event or collection says otherwise.

7. NFTs and game items

NFTs shown on the site, including OG Burn, Year One, Grid Miner and WUD Universe items and Mystery Boxes, are digital collectibles. Any in-game perks or features tied to them are provided for fun, may change or end, and are not a promise of value. Listings and sales happen on third-party marketplaces under their own terms. Snapshot data on the site may be out of date.

8. Risks

Using crypto assets involves serious risks, including:

• Volatility. The price of $WUD and DOT can fall sharply or to zero.
• Liquidity. Pool liquidity can be low, so large trades may move the price significantly.
• Technical risk. Blockchains, runtimes, cross-chain messaging, wallets and this site can contain bugs or be attacked.
• Irreversibility. Mistakes, such as a wrong address or amount, generally cannot be undone.
• Scams. Fake sites, impersonators and malicious links are common. Only trust gavunwud.com and app.hydration.net.
• Regulation. Laws on crypto assets differ by country and may change in ways that affect your ability to use them.

9. Eligibility and local laws

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. You are responsible for making sure that using the site and holding or trading crypto assets is lawful for you, and for any taxes that apply. Do not use the site if you are located in, or a resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you are on a sanctions list.

10. Third-party services

The site relies on and links to services we do not operate, including Hydration, Polkadot Asset Hub, Unique Network, Chaotic, CoinGecko, blockchain explorers and wallet providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct.

11. Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law, to defraud or harm others, to interfere with the site or the networks it connects to, or to impersonate the project or its community members.

12. Content and parody

Gavun Wud is a parody character. The project is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Gavin Wood, Parity Technologies or the Web3 Foundation. Artwork, logos and text on the site belong to their respective creators. Partner names and logos belong to their owners and are shown to identify collaborations.

13. Privacy

The site has no accounts and does not ask for your name or email. When you connect a wallet, your public address is used in your browser to read balances from public blockchains. Your browser stores your wallet preference and some cached public data locally. Loading data means your browser contacts public blockchain nodes and third-party APIs, which can see your IP address under their own policies. Anything you do on-chain is public by nature.

14. No warranty and liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the community members who run the site are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, the networks it connects to, or any crypto assets, including lost profits, lost funds or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms. Questions can be raised with the community on X, Telegram or Discord. The team will never contact you first to ask for funds or your recovery phrase.
